In folgender Hausarbeit steht nun nicht der Anschlag selbst im Mittelpunkt, sondern die Berichterstattung darüber. Eine beispiellose Rolle spielte hierbei auch das so genannte social media. Da dieses in seiner artwork und shape sich ständig weiter entwickelt und auch irgendwie mittlerweile quickly jeden Menschen betrifft, ist es spannend herauszuarbeiten welchen Einfluss social media auf die klassische Berichterstattung hat. Der Amerikaner John Herrmann schrieb hierzu, dass die tale nun nicht mehr den Medien gehöre. Diese hätten nun eine neue Aufgabe: Bereits bestehende Informationen – vor allem falsche – richtig einzuordnen und zu bündeln und nicht mehr neue Informationen zu finden, denn die Bürger wüssten heute mehr als die Journalisten (vgl. hierzu Herrman: 2013). Die neue Rolle der Medien soll in dieser Arbeit vor dem Hintergrund des Anschlags auf den Boston-Marathon näher betrachtet werden. Folgende Fragestellung soll den Leitfaden bilden: Birgt diese neue Rolle Gefahren für die Medienethik – wenn ja welche könnten das sein?
